The Mystery of Inverted Sight

The Darkness of Self-Creation

I find it both interesting and filled with evidence when those who suppress the truth, while standing in opposition to the Triune God, speak out against the very thing that would bring them light—if they only gave it the time of day.

So adamant are they in their disbelief that even the idea of being created and designed by something consisting of an eternal substance—if I may use that word—seems unthinkable to them.

These same human beings, with functioning brains and remarkable intellects, use their deep reasoning and arrive at the conclusion that this eternal power and nature must be something they already know—something physical, something they can lay eyes on. They insist, with vehement certainty, that it is inconceivable for anything to exist outside of their finite minds. And yet, they claim to be evolving into higher beings of thought while dismissing the clear design of the universe as fairy tales, professing great wisdom within themselves.

The Great Fallacy of the Modern Mind

I propose that this great fallacy is born out of the darkness within the hearts of men who deny the power that lies within them, so that they may falsely call themselves creators of their own existence.
From the same mouth, they mock those who know and accept the truth, lashing out even more against those who share the Light of the world with them.

When we recognize that something within us is missing—when we simply believe the obvious truth that we are both intelligently designed and created by eternal energy that consciously gave birth to the universe in supreme wisdom—then we begin to see.

This conscious and wise energy not only designed the entire universe, but it was His idea. He was the architect and the engineer. By His hands, the systems of the universe were set in motion. And by His design, He made it possible for a creature within His creation to live outside His desire—so that this creature might come to grasp who He was, is, and is to come.

The Tragedy of Chosen Darkness

The creature who chooses separation from the whole and healthy creation chooses darkness instead—illuminating the path to self-destruction and preaching it as the only way, as if it were a path of hope and peace.

They believe they have settled on something, but in truth they have settled on darkness. They have become comfortable in it, harmed by any light that shines into their space.

Oh, if they could see that they only have half of themselves!
If they could understand that they were designed to see the world through both spiritual and physical eyes—what a sight it is when one looks around with eyes that are whole!

The Light They Refuse to See

If only the whole world would believe in the Son of God, they could read Scripture as the believer does. They would see that it is more than a collection of stories written by shepherds.
They would see that it was written by educated and learned men of great renown—men who saw the world with clear vision because of Him who was prophesied thousands of years before, who came, who rose from the dead, and whose witnesses recorded their testimony.

Not only is it a book—it is alive. It contains the power to resurrect the half of man that now walks in darkness. What a spectacular gift we possess!

So the believer can say, “I know Jesus personally and walk with Him daily.”
Meanwhile, the unbeliever is dumbfounded by such speech—by the claim that one could submit to a power they refuse to see. They mock the very idea that they cannot will themselves to shine light upon their own souls, as if a flashlight could shine light without first receiving the power of electricity within itself.

The Foolishness of Human Wisdom

I, in turn, am dumbfounded at the idea that men who claim to be gods unto themselves deny the great power that is offered to them—if they would only begin with a small amount of belief in the Son of God, the Creator of the Universe, who gave His life, died by their hands, and rose from the grave so that we might truly live.

One day, we will inhabit an earth free from the pollution of those who deny the obvious and wreak havoc on their own lives—then ask why God does not change it for them.

My friends, it is because He designed it that way. Despite their claim to fame in rebuking their Maker—in some foolish attempt to hold Him in contempt, as if He stands trial before them—they forget that they are holding Him accountable to rules they deny, yet still believe He must follow.

They think that if they close their eyes, He will cease to judge them by His law.
Not recognizing, of course, that such behavior mirrors that of a child—a child claiming greater knowledge than his father while ignoring the instruction of that father.

The Final Reckoning

It is a shame to say, but these men who do such things will die and live out eternity in darkness—separated from God, as they have chosen—having no comprehension that without Him, nothing they love or find comfort in can exist.

Without Him, only the opposite of Him can exist.
What a painful, torturous place that must be.

They ask, “Why doesn’t God stop evil?”
My friend, He does—but He is waiting for you, and for all who are like you.

Because to stop evil would be to stop you and me.
And we are more important.
